Segue Jazz

The band Segue got its start as anyone might imagine. Get a group of musicians with the right skills and a shared goal in one room, and you just might find that they’ll go ahead and start a band.

Founder Al Reshard got the idea for the group while still a member of the band One-to-One. While creating music together, Al’s bandmate would often toss out a “Hey, let’s put a segue in this section of the song.”

And so, the idea for the band Segue was born.

Formed in the mid-90s, the group came together organically, quickly realizing their ability to draw upon each other for inspiration.

The original members – Clay Benjamin, Elisha Parris, Corey Johnson, Scott Rademacher, and Eric Mason – played together for years, producing well-received album, “Tell Ya in a Second” in 2000.

After a successful album featuring legendary bassist Victor Wooten, the group went on to play with widely renowned artists like Chaka Khan, Keiko Matsui, the Yellowjackets, Chuck Loeb, and more.

After a solid run, the group decided to part ways in pursuit of their own music careers.

But as the old saying goes, it didn’t take long before the band was back together – although a little different this time around.

Twenty years later and with a few new faces, Segue is excited to release “Pocket With One Jacket,” with a complete project on the horizon.
